How to make a complaint

Write to us through the form on this page, by e-mail to [email protected], or by post to BOOS SARL (Domgate), 132 avenue de la Libération, 06130 Grasse, France.

The "Notices" section of our Registration Agreement provides that notices to Domgate are sent by e-mail or by first-class post, not by telephone.

Domgate keeps the complaints it receives by e-mail, with their attachments, for 10 years.

How we use your data
Your personal data: Domgate uses the details you give in this form to handle your complaint. Legal basis: the performance of our contract with you, and our legitimate interest in handling complaints (GDPR, Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)). They are read by the Domgate team. To check that the form is not sent by a robot, Cloudflare (Turnstile) receives technical data from your browser, such as your IP address. We delete the entries of this form 36 months after we receive them. You may ask to access, correct or erase them, to receive them in a portable format, to restrict their use or to object to it, by writing to our data protection officer, Philippe Boos, at [email protected], and you may complain to the CNIL (cnil.fr). More in our privacy policy.

What happens next

When you use the form on this page, we send you an e-mail confirming that we have received your complaint, with its reference. Then we reply.

We acknowledge every complaint and reply to it within 72 hours. If our reply does not settle the matter, you can always ask for your complaint to be examined a second time.

Contesting a suspension or a content decision

For our hosting services: when Domgate removes or restricts content, or suspends or ends the service or the account, because the content is illegal or incompatible with our terms, the statement of reasons sent with the decision names the measure, its scope and duration, the facts, any automated means used, the ground and the ways to contest it (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065, Art. 17). A complaint through this page is the internal way to contest it.

For a dispute over a domain name itself, see the dispute policy of the registry concerned or, for generic top-level domains, the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP).

Refunds

Without prejudice to any mandatory statutory rights, the Registration Agreement provides that:

  • fees "are non-refundable, except as otherwise expressly stated" ("Fees and Payment");
  • domain name renewal transactions are "final, irreversible, non-refundable, and ineligible for account credit" ("Term and Renewal");
  • when Domgate refuses a registration or deletes a pending registration within the first 5 days, you "may receive, at our sole discretion, an account credit or refund", less the applicable deletion fee; account credit or refunds "are not available in all circumstances" ("Service Interruption");
  • when an incoming transfer fails, you "may receive, at our sole discretion, an account credit with us or a refund in the amount of the registration fee" ("Domain Transfers", "Denial of Transfers").

In practice, no refund is possible once a domain name is registered and the grace period of its registry, if there is one, has passed. A service that has not been activated yet can be refunded on request.

Other routes

The "Governing Jurisdiction" and "Dispute Resolution" sections of the Registration Agreement set out which courts hear disputes.
