ICANN has battled to address the issue of registration data accuracy and access by authorized third parties (historically referred to as Whois data).
This brings to a significant concern regarding domain registration data: the need to protect the privacy rights of Registrants.
The requirement for access to this data to stop domain misuse, however, was a matter of equal importance when it came to registration data.
