About .country

.COUNTRY is a generic top-level domain extension, not tied to a country, managed by Internet Naming Co. No local presence is required: holders based in any country can register. No prior right, such as a trademark, is needed. Individuals and organisations can both be holders, without a company registration number. No application form is needed.

With Domgate, a .COUNTRY domain costs €60 a year, at registration and at each renewal. Domains are registered and renewed for 1 to 10 years. Restoration after expiry: D30 to D60. Registration takes a few minutes. After the expiry date, a domain can still be renewed late: D1 to D30. A domain is transferred with its authorisation code (authcode), obtained from the current registrar. Only Latin letters, digits and hyphens are accepted: no internationalised names (IDN).
