.GO.IT is a second-level domain extension under .IT, the country-code extension of Italy. The rules shown on this page are the same as on the .IT page. With Domgate, the first year costs €8, while a .IT domain costs €10. Each year of renewal costs €16. The holder needs a local presence. Domgate provides the required local presence for €30 a year.

A local presence is required to hold a .IT domain. Individuals and organisations can both be holders. A company registration or VAT number is asked at registration. No prior right, such as a trademark, is needed. Internationalised names (IDN), with accented or non-Latin letters, are accepted.
A .IT domain is registered and renewed for 1 year. Registration is automated. After the expiry date, a domain can still be renewed late: from D to D+28. Restoration after expiry: from D+28 to D+58. A domain cannot be deleted before its expiry date.
A .IT domain is transferred with its authorisation code (authcode), obtained from the current registrar. The domain must first be unlocked at the current registrar. The transfer adds one year to the expiry date. No document is required for the change of holder.
