Website Visitors

Like most website operators, Domgate collects non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. Domgate’s purpose in collecting non-personally identifying information is to better understand how visitors use the service. From time to time, Domgate may release non-personally-identifying information in the aggregate, e.g., by publishing a report on trends in the usage of its service.

Domgate also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. Domgate has a legitimate interest in collecting potentially personally identifying information; the purpose being to provide and improve the service, to keep the service safe and secure, and to protect the service from abuse. Domgate only discloses IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses potentially personally-identifying information as described below.

We may determine the approximate location of users’ web browsers from their IP addresses. We collect and use this information to, for example, calculate how many people visit Domgate from certain geographic regions, and to recommend relevant domain names for a given geographic region.

Protection of Certain Potentially Personally-Identifying Information

Domgate discloses potentially personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors, and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on Domgate’s behalf, or to provide services available via the Domgate service, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors, and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using the Domgate service, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. Domgate will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to its employees, contractors, and affiliated organizations, as described above, Domgate discloses potentially personally-identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order, or other governmental request, or when Domgate believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Domgate, third parties, or the public at large.

Domgate reserves the right to disclose potentially personally identifying information and/or non-personally-identifiable information to assist government enforcement agencies, and to protect the security and integrity of our services. Domgate takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction of potentially personally-identifying information.

These procedures include using unique, per-service strong passwords for service provider accounts, and multi-factor authentication methods. Although we strive to employ reasonable protections for potentially personally-identifiable information that are appropriate to its sensitivity, we do not guarantee or warrant the security of this information. No system is 100% secure.

Data breaches: Where a breach occurs, Domgate shall, upon discovering such a breach, ensure that our obligations are met under applicable data privacy requirements, and with specific acknowledgement of Articles 33 and 34 of the GDPR, where applicable.

Data retention: Domgate does not retain any potentially personally-identifying information for longer than is necessary to provide the services to you and others, to detect and research abusive client behavior, subject to any legal obligations to further retain such information.
